Sneak Peak
Dear Diary,
The wind is howling through burning willows and crackling bark. Embers from burnt down trees dancing through the blood-tinged sky. Screams encompassing us at every corner of this blood-sodden earth. Houses are destroyed and families are torn apart. The world is coming to an end faster than anticipated and it is up to us to put an end to all this destruction and chaos.
It has not been too long since the War of the Races broke out and life as we know it is over. Witches banding together to fight off the evil that has seeped through the earth’s surface. Vampire’s minds being controlled by the hell that has broken loose. The problem is that we do not know what we are up against or how to banish it back to where they came from. My goal is to seal off the Dark Dimension to, hopefully, keep it out of our world for good.
A Turning Point: New Beginnings
Sneak Peak
A small gasp of air escapes my mouth at the unexpected touch from someone unknown to me. Gazing up into the man’s eyes from underneath my dark, thick lashes, I see a slight smile play across his face. I wonder what he is smiling at. He slowly releases me and steps back into a dim light from the street lamps.
Rachael was born on September 21, 1994, in Kent County, Michigan. She was born to Sarah Elizabeth Keenan and David Lee Bartley. The passing of her father is what set her in motion to truly follow her dreams and do everything within her power to make her father’s dream for her come true; that dream was for her to do better in life than what he did. Rachael is a full-time mother, student, and novelist. She lives in Spring Hill, Florida with her husband, Jason (26) and their two beautiful children, Elizabeth (4) and Jason (1).
While Rachael did not always enjoy reading as a pastime fun, as a young girl, she always enjoyed writing, whether it be poetry or, at the time, role-playing. As time went on and she grew older, she began to fall more in love with reading, which also increased her love for writing. Now, at age 23, her love for reading and writing has never been more strong.
Currently, she is working towards obtaining her BA in Creative Writing & English with a concentration in Fiction and should be graduated by April of 2019. While maintaining her family life, school life, and work, Rachael was able to join three honor societies, which include The National Honor Society of Leadership & Success, The National Honor Society of Collegiate Scholars, and The International English Honor Society. Her goal in life is to become a well-known published author and Fiction Editor. With this degree, she believes that is in her near future. She has accomplished half of this goal by becoming a published author with the Odyssey. The genre that she enjoys writing the most is fiction and she has found that she likes adding in some action, romance, erotica, and drama into her stories because she found that it makes for a great story and will appeal to more men and women.
